James Owen

Production Manager, Bowers & Jones

I have personally dealt with LEMA academy for several years now and would recommend them for finding decent apprentices tailored to the business needs They understand what you want and are always available to talk on a one to one basis with us when dealing with them.

We have had apprentices we’ve taken on after their course has finished, who have moved up to supervisory levels. Going forward I will always be happy to use LEMA for future apprenticeships as we develop our business

John Smout

Engineering Manager, CMT Engineering Limited

LEMA have provided CMT with some very successful apprentices and we plan to continue along this path in the future.  Their Pre-apprenticeship programme that includes open days and work experience is a fantastic opportunity for employers to meet young apprentices and discuss their aspirations and thoughts on engineering.  The quality of the CV’s we receive are of a very high standard and give us all the information we need to make an informed choice.

Dee Wheeler

Group HR Manager, Westley Group Limited

LEMA have been providing Westley Group with Level 2 and Level 3 training provisions in engineering and manufacturing for the last five years, assisting with our recruitment process and ensuring the effortless placement of a number of apprentices into our business during this time.

We find the team at LEMA to be extremely professional, responsive and knowledgeable in their field, providing invaluable support to both the business and our apprentices.  LEMA are most definitely an asset to our business and always on hand to offer expert advice.

Bryan Russell

Maintenance Manager,
Simpson Strong-Tie

It’s great to see young, hungry students have an appreciation for engineering and looking for a career in maintenance. Our company founder Barclay Simpson built Simpson Strong-Tie on nine principles, one of them being ‘Give Back’ and we saw this as a perfect opportunity to help further the progression of the next generation of engineers from within the community. They came in, got their hands dirty and got stuck in, it was refreshing to see. It's clear that LEMA are passionate about what they do’.

Jake Arliss

Tool Room Supervisor, Petford Tools Limited

I personally started as an apprentice, placed within Petford Group via LEMA in 2011, which is when we started working together. Currently we have four apprentices here and are looking to add to this in the near future. We intend to continue working closely with LEMA to fulfil these roles, as our success rate with their candidates has been so high.

At Petford Group it has always been our saying: “train apprentices to a high enough level in the industry so they can leave but treat them well enough so they don’t want to”. I believe LEMA is the perfect foundation for us to achieve this.

Stuart Pilley

Managing Director, Central Birmingham Springs

The passion that LEMA show for their students and the Engineering industry is a breath of fresh air. They are very efficient in how they communicate and although we have regular contact, it isn’t intrusive. We have apprentices with LEMA at various stages and all of them are offering something to the business. They enjoy their time at the Academy and put the skills they learn in to practice when they return. They are becoming more and more integral to us. We look forward to a long relationship.
