CNC machinist

Location: B3 1RL | Job starts: 02/07/2022 | Start salary: | £4.81 per hour | Request info

Job Description:

Duties: The successful candidate would be taught how to program on and off line, how to debur and check sizes with inspection equipment, how to load and clock jobs. And how to machine and select tooling for the job. We have a range of milling machine styles and systems and all our machines are larger. It’s important to note that we wouldn’t have anyone operating the machines for some time due to the risk involved, we would want the candidate to understand and respect the dangers before letting them work a machine on their own. They will also be taught the safe use of the overhead cranes.

Skills required: Desired skills Able to work as part of a team as well as use own initiative Enjoy working hands on with manual equipment Enjoy working practically Have a high attention to detail GCSE Grade 4-9 in Maths & English or equivalent Personal qualities: The ideal candidate will be: Natural problem solver with a logical approach. Fabricator Welder (LMO)

Job Description:

Duties: The successful candidate would be taught how to read drawings correctly, the use of fabrication equipment, learn how to weld to a coded level, dressing and prepping work. They would also be taught the safe use of overhead cranes.

Flame cutter and fettler (LMO)

Job Description: The successful candidate would be taught how to use the CNC flame cutter, the different steel grades and system for material traceability. They would be taught how to dress the profiles for use and the safe use of the overhead cranes. Once they have mastered this, we would then teach them how to draw and nest the profiles in the office.

Apprentice Engineer

Location: Birmingham | Job starts: 02/07/2022 | Start salary: | £4.81 per hour | Request info

Job Description: The candidate will have an enthusiasm for working in a busy Engineering workshop, as part of a small team or on their own. We cover a wide range over components, differing is size/ complexity, all manufactured or repaired to a high standard.

Duties: Tasks will include the basics of keeping the work area tidy, using hand tools, basic tool room machining (turning, milling, pillar drills etc..), and forming shapes with copper tube and oxy/acetylene torches, building assemblies to engineering drawings. Also brazing copper parts together is a large part of our work, to make tubing joints with silver rods for electrical contact, and also watertight (as lots of our pieces are water cooled, check out www.ajaxtocco.com for a better oversight of what our company manufactures). There will also be opportunity to travel within the UK and Europe on occasion, to carry out work at our customer’s site.
