LEAD / LEMA is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Lee Wood MSc PhD CMgr MCMI CEng FIET as, its new Chair of Governors which commenced on 1st December 2021. Dr Lee Wood is currently employed as a senior manager at Tesco Maintenance.
Dr Lee Wood is a Chartered Electrical Engineer, holding a PhD in Continuous Improvement Implementation with 30 years management experience, 10 within the supply chain and retail sectors. He supports situational solutions through to Strategic Leadership of initiatives for a major retailer as Technical Governance / Project Delivery Lead and is a Director of Studies supporting International PhD Students at the University of Bolton. He recently joined the Hume Institute Lausanne, Switzerland in the role of Programme Director to support the development of online / campus-based PhD level curriculum and delivery.
Identified as a people person with extensive experience in leading teams through technical and cultural change, he has operated internationally delivering high value projects supporting strategic business direction. In 2014, he was awarded The McKibbin Research Foundation National Award through the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) for a paper detailing the pathway to successful Continuous Improvement implementation in Logistics. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) appointed to the Global Registrations and Standards Committee, a team with a primary responsibility for supervision of the assessment processes for Professional Registration applications. He has held numerous roles in an IET volunteer capacity over a 17-year period and maintains his position as a Professional Registration Advisor, supporting engineers through their registration journey. CSR is an area close to his heart and in 2014 he supported a DHL initiative in the Dominican Republic through direct, local interaction with an orphanage in Higuey. This project went on to win a European DHL CSR CEO award.
